Blergh

Training yesterday was an unmitigated disaster for the most part. I felt fine going there, a little hot maybe, but nothing special. During the warmup I was ok, running isn’t my strong point but I managed to keep going (just about), but once we started forms I began to feel really odd. The first couple of Kicho forms were fine, nice and easy, if a little sloppy, but as we moved on I got worse and worse. We had to re-do Kicho Hyung Sam Bu at one point, and I performed half of that form and half of Ee Bu, it was very odd and I just couldn’t think straight. At one point we were asked to fetch our Bo staffs, but as much as I could hear the instruction I just couldn’t process it, it took me ages to move and actually get it, and once I did my Bong Hyung Il Bu went wrong several times.

Sparring wasn’t much better, I was lethargic and slow and gave away silly points and took a spin back kick to the ribs for my effort. It was after the lesson when it hit me though, I started coughing and couldn’t stop. I was nearly sick in my car I was coughing so hard, and when I got home I felt hot and weak as a kitten. I won’t describe the symptoms, but I was not a very well chap after that, and today I feel totally wiped out. I’ve had to miss a sparring seminar (boooooo), been slow and stupid around my other half’s birthday, and just generally felt awful. And I have a grading in less than a week now. I really hope this clears up fast and I don’t miss any of the last three training sessions, I have a feeling I could really do with them this time.

Hope you feel better! And it’s bo or staff! Grrr.Staff staff!

  2. I hope you feel better too! I’m not feeling so great myself. My cold that was going away came back with a vengeance this morning to attack my throat. Feel better soon. Get some rest, and I’m sure you’re other half understands. 😉
