Confessional

I got tagged again….. This time it’s supposed to be three embarrassing personal confessions. Yeah, thanks for that…

Let’s see then, where do I draw the line? I think we’ll keep this tame for now.

  1. Lazy Shaving – I should shave every day, to keep me smart and neat and respectable. What actually happens however is that I instead don’t shave for a week or so, and then decide it’d be nice to smarten myself up for training. Maybe that says something about me, that I’d rather be smart for martial arts than work. Not having hot running water in the bathroom sink may be partially to blame, I have to wet shave as electrics are a) prone to cut my throat (no I have no idea how it happens either) and b) a bit crap. Shaving with freezing cold water isn’t much fun. Writing this has spurred me however, I will make the effort to shave every day from now on.
  2. Fussy Eating – I call myself a fussy eater, and it’s true. In truth there aren’t too many things I dislike eating, but unfortunately they’re pretty key ingredients to many dishes. I’m talking about things like tomatoes and cheese; as you can imagine it means pretty much anything on an Italian menu is out of the equation for me. I’m a lot better than I used to be, the list of things I can’t stand is getting smaller and the list of foods I’ll eat at a push is growing at an inversely proportional rate. I actually feel really bad about this one, it’s only food after all and I always remind myself I’m lucky to have the option to not eat it. I’d love to cure myself of this. Maybe one for the New Year there.
  3. Not Growing Up – I guess this one depends on your own point of view, I don’t really see it as a negative thing per se, but I know lots of people do. I still don’t really feel much different now when compared to ten or twelve years ago. I know I’ve changed, quite a bit in fact, but I still feel the same inside. I still like to play games, I still love seeing all my old friends and having a laugh, I’m still terribly irresponsible and messy, I’m still always looking for the next adventure. From my own viewpoint though it has its advantages. Take this time of year for example, once December hits I’m going to start getting really excited about Christmas. I’m the same every year, I love it and always try to re-capture that feeling I had as a child. It’s getting harder with each passing year (it doesn’t help that it only feels like five minutes since the last time!), but I’ll keep going. I don’t feel too bad about not growing up, there are a lot of people out there who look down on you for it, but I think most of those people are just trying too hard and need to take themselves less seriously. Hey, it’s my blog, I can say what I like :).

It’s no easy task thinking of things for that list above, and by that I mean things tame enough to post here. That would be an entirely  different entry altogether! I won’t tag anyone in specific here to carry it on, but if you should want to then do so. If you’re not a bloggy type, you can just leave your list in the comments.
