Brew Equipment Arrives

I got home from work on Friday to find my brewing equipment had arrived!

Along with a few little extras like sterilising chemicals, paddle, capmden tablets etc., I got the bulk of the actual equipment.

homebrew equipment

(l-r) Home-made mash tun, fermenting vessel with airlock hole, 2KW boiler, plastic pressure barrel with bottling attachment.

The only thing not in-shot there is the plastic jerrycan I bought as a no-chill cube, for somewhere to store the wort between boiling and pitching yeast.

Along with all the equipment I also got the most important part of all: the grain bill for my first brew! I’ve got for a clone of Hopback’s Summer Lightning, which is a lovely beer.

5kg of crushed Maris Otter, Challenger and Goldings hops and S-04 ale yeast.

As soon as I’ve got a bit of time spare I’m going to get going and brew me some beer!
