You just gotta keep on livin’, man. L-I-V-I-N.

So says Wooderson, one of the characters from what is close to being my favourite film ever, Dazed And Confused. And Livin’ is just what I’ll be doing now, in my newly carpeted and decorated living room!! (Just how tenuous was that link???).

That’s right, a mere *quickly counts* 19(!) weeks after the house got flooded, there are now carpets down, painted walls, tiled bathroom and even a new TV cabinet thing. I spent the best part of last night desperately unwiring and then rewiring my borg-like mess of electronics, and finally got to sit down at around 9pm. I had already caved that evening to the impossible hype and overexcited people on the intarweb and went and bought myself Halo 3, so I sat and gave that a play, and it is sooooo good being back in a proper room! The first thing I did when I got home from work yesterday in fact, was to lie in the middle of the floor and make some kind of carpet angel – just because I could! Somewhere along the line though I’ve managed to lose the aerial lead so can’t get any actual TV yet, but that’s no big thing. I still suspect it was an act of dog….

It’s absolutely freezing today. Well, it’s not absolute zero, that would be silly, but it’s pretty chuffing cold all the same! Luckily sensible old me went and bought himself his winter scarf last night, and some kind of divine intervention has meant I’ve been able to use it already. I’m LOVING the autumnal thing going on at the momet, it’s all cold and fresh with lots of low-level sunlight, it makes me feel all ‘mmmmmmmmm’. Next on the list are some gloves, the steering wheel was so cold this morning, I drove to work bouncing my hands off of it or driving with jazz hands. Crikey, I’ve just realised I’m off to London in two days, eek, I’d best pack something I suppose 😀
