Well after a couple of weeks of illness, it’s great to be able to write this and feel nearly back to normal. I think the last time I updated here I was complaining about a really sore throat, and it was the same sore throat that put me out of action for the rest of the week. I suffered all day on Monday at work and could barely get a word out, and on Tuesday I just felt worse. I went to the doc’s pronto, where he told me that my ‘very angry’ looking throat (he was actually far more graphic but I’ll spare you) and my lack of voice told him that I had tonsillitis and laryngitis. He sent me away with a prescription for some strong antibiotics and I spent the rest of the week in bed pretty much. I’m still a bit croaky now, but much, much better than I was.
I dragged myself up and out of the house on Saturday for the Halloween party I’d been looking forward to for weeks. I successfully made my ‘yip yip’ alien costume, inspired by what were clearly the greatest characters ever to appear on Sesame Street, and boy did I suffer for my art! I could only wear it for about ten minutes as the time as it was insanely hot inside. I suppose it was to be expected, after all I was inside four metres of fur, but on top of a few beers the heat meant yip yip spent a lot of time relaxing on the sofa with noone occupying it. Pictures soon, including one of me eating a baby!
Pumpkin photos are on the way too. This year I went for Mike Myers from Halloween (not Wayne’s World!) and a Boo ghost from the Super Mario games. They aren’t the best I’ve ever done, but I’m pretty pleased with them nonetheless.
